Barry Seward-Thompson
Barry Seward-Thompson originally trained as an engineer and was for many years a successful computer salesman and sales manager. Some 20 years ago, he discovered that people are more interesting and complex than machines and took the opportunity to move into organisational and human development in which area he has worked ever since. While he himself has undertaken a wide range of personal development activities, he is also a widely experienced consultant specialising in the people aspects of change and the development of learning organisations, both in the private and public sector. He works to the philosophy that the client, whether an organisation, manager, or individual, is the expert in his line and must ultimately make the decisions. He is a registered Investors in People adviser including the Work/Life Balance and Recruitment and Selection extension models.
Barry's principal roles are to help the client identify and formulate the right questions and issues, to challenge and test improvement ideas before decisions are made, and to assist clients in implementation. The activities he undertakes range from pure consultation, facilitation, and counselling, through management and culture 'audits', to more structured training and development activities.
